It's the demand for the service that they appear to be the most worried about. In my opinion, they should have secured a back-up set of satellite and cable channels just in case of problems on this new venture. However, they seem to have left it too late now.
If this goes well, it will be interesting to see what Amazon's next move in the sports arena will be. If it turns out to be the disaster some are predicting, it will be back to the drawing board. I think we are coming to a fork in the road which will determine our future direction in terms of sports streaming, at least in the short term.

Exactly they can't do much now as the horse has already bolted.

No one has really predicted a disaster as the vexed question one has to ask is are Amazon just trying to get a few more Prime members on board in the run up to Christmas or is this a dip into the water for the future.

Tennis in comparison with Football is a minority sport and therefore not the same demand.
If Amazon really have not thought this through and got back up server capacity it will be massive own goal.

One they would struggle to recover from if that was to be the case.

NBC Sports is also available across cable and satellite in the US which eases the demand.

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services
Had a quick look on the AP website.
Interestingly the games are there to choose live and are said to be available again from midnight.
I couldn't ascertain if this meant they were available to stream at any time after the midnight following the live showing and if this is the case how long they are available for.
I'm sure they must be in HD at least, anything less would be a massive own goal.
Don't forget AP will be monitoring numbers closely to see if it is viable to bid for a better package in the next round of PL rights.
It is imperative for them that the streamer has a positive experience.

One would think they would be available for quite a few days.

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services
Amazons football coverage will be UHD and on vm https://www.rxtvlog.com/2019/11/virg...d-premier.html
ll Virgin Media customers with a V6 box can access the Amazon Prime Video app. It can be accessed by visiting Home > Apps& Games > Amazon Prime Video app or Channel 205 and then pushing the red button on the remote.
Not all matches are due to appear in UHD, but among those already confirmed are Burnley v Manchester City on 3rd December, Liverpool v Everton on 4th December and Arsenal v Brightonn on 5th December 2019.
(edit) - Newapollo beat me to it on coming soon thread.

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services
Britbox has highlighted some programme additions for its site during January and we have confirmation that it will shortly be launching on Roku as well as on certain smart TVs, Freeview Play and Chromecast.
Nothing of any interest to me on there - I've seen all the stuff that I like on the menu and I am not one to watch things over and over.
https://www.rxtvlog.com/2019/11/brit...additions.html
Apple +, however, seem to be adding some good stuff, even though there's not a lot on there yet. Nonetheless, if they keep adding material every week as they are now doing, this will be a draw for me.
I will get a year's free trial as I've just bought a couple of i-phones, so I will have plenty of opportunity to try it out.

We went to see Frozen 2 last night. Disney were advertising the streaming service very hard indeed.

l can see quite a lot of takers come March given that there is likely to a freebie for the first month as with nearly other streaming service.
