I think the unwritten rule is to title these sorts of threads 'R.I.P. [name of person]'

Then people know to post how that person will be missed and what a legend they were, like they knew them personally.

Surely not, I just think some people didn't think that much of him, or have no idea who he was, to leave their condolences?

There is no 'rule' about titles, its up to the topic creator.
