Re: Winter Olympics 2014
Well it's nice to see a bit of interest in the winter Olympics. It's a shame that the UK doesn't have the climate to promote winter sports on a grander scale - especially as the brits are well connected with the very early winter Olympics - both in the creation of and participation.
After watching channel 4's show (The Jump) it has proved - even though the show was a bit cheesy, that ANYONE can do winter sports - even with a little training.
Personally I have a lot of respect for Winter sports athletes as not only do they have to be skilled in their discipline (quite often) they need a lot of courage as well - my particular favorite being ski jumping/flying, which takes a lot of the above.
Good luck to the rest of the UK athletes participating in Sochi - let's hope some more medals may be forthcoming.

Re: Winter Olympics 2014
Much prefer the Winter games. It makes the Summer Olympics looks boring in comparison.
Well done to Jenny too, excellent result.

Re: Winter Olympics 2014
I saw the Moguls this morning, and the crash that split the helmet of one of the skiers.

Re: Winter Olympics 2014
This sounds interesting

Please consider that prior to 1951, each Olympic ring corresponded with a particular continent: blue represented Europe, yellow represented Asia, black represented Africa, green represented Australia and red—the fifth circle—represented the Americas.

Woman's Curling get Bronze
Men's Curling guaranteed a medal tomorrow
So that will be 4 medals equaling our best from 90 years ago.

Re: Winter Olympics 2014
l never thought Curling would be so popular with us in this country but when there is a chance of a medal or two at the end of it then even snail racing might become popular.
