ITV Scotland

Please can someone answer this question.

My wife is Scottish. And would like to get news from Scotland. Yes, we have BBC Scotland on VM.

But, why cant we get ITV Scotland on VM.

When l was on Sky, you could get ITV Scotland and programme it into the system. But now l have Sky Q. Mainly to get Sky Atlantic. But we have been told that we cannot get ITV Scotland or programme it into the system.

Any ideas.

Re: ITV Scotland

There is no ITV Scotland.

You surely mean STV.

You could try the stv.tv site or try their app on a tablet.

Because he now says he has Sky Q, his whole post is kind of confusing the way he has typed it though.

Re: ITV Scotland

From his post it sounds like he has VM and also Sky Q now.

Either way he won't get ITV Scotland as it doesn't exist lol.

Re: ITV Scotland

Saying ITV Scotland doesn't exist is technically true but there is an ITV Region in Scotland - perhaps he means ITV Borders!

Either way, in order to save bandwidth - VM only gives the local channels at the headend and does not distribute them to every box nationally. Sky has the channels via Satellite so they would be using no extra capacity if they let them be seen nationally or only locally.

If it's not on your Sky Q box however, you can tune it manually to recieve the channels. (https://www.a516digital.com/2014/11/...equencies.html). [from what I remember, they removed it from the EPG for some reason]

Do remember that Scotland's "channel 3" for most of the country is STV, but Borders television is an ITV region.

Re: ITV Scotland

ITV do not want people outside Scotland to have access to STV.
It is not available in either the VM or Sky EPGs outside of Scotland.
You can manually tune it on a Freesat or SkyQ box - or use a Scottish postcode on a Fereesat box.

Re: ITV Scotland

They don't really want anybody to watch any other region than their own because of the advertisers.

They've even stopped correctly labelling the ITV regions in order to make it more difficult.

Re: ITV Scotland

You can get STV anywhere in the UK if you have a Roku stick or box. When it asks for a postcode, just put in a Scottish postcode and you are away.

You are not missing much STV News (aka Fox News Scotland) is poor on reporting the news plus the so called Sports news is very poor unless you are an wee Rangers (Kilmarnock) or Rangers fan.

BBC Reporting Scotland is better.

Re: ITV Scotland

I disagree with that, it's not Rangers focussed at all. It feels more local than the BBC local news.

To be far the last time I watch STV News was in late May on the day when Rangers got they new manger.

As an Motherwell fan I have found the BBC and the web is better for Motherwell news.
