VM packages never fair to existing users

Why is it that Virgin Media's existing customers never seem to benefit from prices and packages that new customers are afforded?
I have been with VM for 8yrs, since ntlworld days, when I want to upgrade my router I am told that I need to pay for it...

Re: VM packages never fair to existing users

The magic word here is-upgrade.

If you have a problem with your present router then it would be replaced FOC.

Just because new customers are getting Wireless N D-links does not improve their services nor will it improve yours. Therefore why should they give you one?

I dipped my hand in my pocket and brought my own instead of going cap-in-hand to my provider. Why you may (or may not) ask? Because I get to choose what equipment goes on my network.

Surely its far easier\cheaper (in the long run) to pop down to PC world than go begging to VM

In my experience, you're not missing out by not having a D-Link DIR-615 D2 from VM.
