Problems In Herts?

Hi, Im in the St.Albans area, using the Luton Proxies. Have noticed my proxy going from cache1 to 7 and all numbers in between today, and for the last few days, I have been unable to access several sites. Most annoyingly my online banking, although I know the site itself is ok by various friends visiting it. None of whom I wish to share my banking details with!
Other sites are extremely slow, with numerous time outs. Does anyone know if Luton is having problems? Have tried changing proxy, with no joy which is unusual for me.

Re: Problems In Herts?

When you say you have noticed your proxy going from 1-7 what do you mean?

have you been testing it on different sites? if so, reporting different proxy servers is not unusual, as you will be served by a range of proxies, as different proxies cache different sites.

Have you tried specifying a proxy that is outside of the luton range? Bristol 2 is 62.255.0.5 and cardiff 2 is 62.252.32.4 so you could give one of those a try

Re: Problems In Herts?

Hi, when testing my proxy, for example on http://www.all-nettools.com/toolbox my proxy is shown now as lutn-cache-8 and has been changing all day, which Ive never noticed it doing before. Have tried specifying other NTL proxies, but cant seem to access especially my bank www.natwest.com and a lot of other sites, some do work on other proxies though

I haven't got a clue what your talk of proxies means cos i'm a tech-phobic but I've suffered similar problems intermittently this week (plus iffy email service), including today. I contacted tech support yesterday and they said they'd been made aware of a problem within the previous hour and engineers were working on it. Things sorted themselves out again yesterday pretty quickly, but then I had problems this morning although, touch wood (eg Simon Duffy's head) all's OK now.
