AFAIK It's down to character encoding, the mailer is useing Unicode whereas this page uses Western. I suspect Al's posting is using a Unicode character.

A MAHA MH-C9000 WizardOne smart AA/AAA battery charger ... £49.95 new (and still current model), £4.50 from charity shop.
If I'd known that Powerex (the brand on the box, which sounded like some Chinese crap) was MAHA (only ever seen the super-smart chargers by that name), then I'd probably have stuck some extra in the collection box.
