You Tube problems

My sister has a Tivo box and the You Tube app on it is useless. The videos freeze every ten seconds, the letter A is missing from search, and often videos just stop and you get returned to normal tv. I have a V6 box and You Tube works perfectly on it. Why can Virgin not fix this problem.

Re: You Tube problems

I wouldn't use any apps on the V6 if I have them on my TV, the TV apps load much quicker.

I suppose it depends on your TV.

My 2014 Samsung TV is no quicker to load iPlayer, Netflix or YouTube than the V6 is.

If anything it's a bit quicker as I don't have to find the other remote first.

We use the Netflix app the most, and it has its own button on the TV remote, so it's pretty much instant when you hit the button.

I have 2016 Samsung with smart remote which I can use on all connected devices, and I find apps are accessed instantaneously on my TV.
I still have the Tivo which is horrendous for anything other than watching live channels, but it serves its purpose at the moment as I do not want Shub3.

You don't need a Hub 3 to get the V6 - if you have a SH2 or 2ac you currently keep it.

There was no indication we'd get one when I filled out the form but our V6 came with a new hub in the box despite existing one being capable.

Agreed, I read the small print in the offer I received for a V6 it said "we will supply you with our new Shub3" , so did not take it up.
Hopefully I can wait until a new shub is released without problems.

If you don't register the new hub the old one will keep working.

If you're sent TV and Broadband kit in the same order they will activate together.

I was sent me a hub3 with the V6, but they sent the wrong power supply, so the Shub2ac is still in use.

Re: You Tube problems

I use the YouTube app on my Android tablet and then play it on the Tivo (old type). This gives me better searches and I can build up a play list.

The Netflix app used to do the same but now can't connect.

Add the other TV apps including the remote control and you can operate the Tivo from your tablet.
