Sir Alan Parker, the acclaimed British director of such films as Fame, Evita and Bugsy Malone, has died aged 76.

The double Oscar nominee's many other credits include Midnight Express, Mississippi Burning, The Commitments, Angela's Ashes and Birdy.
I was in one of his films - I was an extra in Pink Floyd; The Wall, when they did some filming at Keighley railway.

Re: RIP Sir Alan Parker

A great shame but he leaves a great legacy of really varied films behind from The Commitments to Midnight Express to Angel Heart.
