Re: E amil off again
Just sat down at my desk and Spampal had a few "cannot resolve server name" errors but I've been having DNS troubles for a while now so it might be that. Dunno

Re: Email off again
It times out or just takes an eternity.
I was with virgin for many years and had very few problems. Since being with NTL for last 2 years I can say the BB is very good for browsing but the email service I get with Outlook Express is abysmal.

Re: Email off again
Did you not keep your virgin e-mail ? I did - and still use it far more than my ntl address.

not all ntl mail servers are crap then! virgin.net is run by ntl (they are virtual ISP) all mail server platforms will eventually be migrated over to openwave. I believe tesco.net have been migrated already. ntlworld is due mid june with other platforms to follow throught june and july (ish).
this should improve everybody's email service.

Re: Email off again
The question that still needs answering is why have ntl waited over a year to do anything about the crap email 'service'?
Oh, & it's nice to see them put their corporate customers before their residential ones....

Re: [Merged] NTL Email Issues
I don't believe it, they sent me two e-mails -
1: about speed issues and how to test the speed of connection ( including a diatribe about bits/bytes
2: about malicious software and keeping up to date with AV/Firewall etc.
All good info for the newbie/novice but what the flip have they got to do with e-mail arriving 9 days late???
If they send any more crap I will bend somebody's ear in the morning

I use Outlook to download my emails fro NTL and my old Globalnet account. It takes so long that outlook gives up the goat and so I Use web mail to delete the 300 odd spam from the las three days and i deleted one by mistake and i'm trying to use webmail to undelete but it is taking so long xmas will be here first.
secondly when I ran outlook I get a nice little message from Globalnet saying that they have intercepted a e-mail fro XXX and it had a virus and we have deleted it. why don't NTL do this I pay about 60 pound a month and I'm getting a totally crap service.

I haven't got any e-mails viruses through my ntlworld account, just a load of spam. As Virgin.net has now moved over to new servers with anti-spam & anti-virus, why don't you forward you ntlworld e-mail to your virgin.net account? It's what I do.

More than a little of topic, but I always thought it was give up the ghost, but then looking at your username it could explain your bovine fetish.

Re: [Merged] NTL Email Issues
Just sent this to them over the site contact system:
I rang your tech support line on Tuesday 25Th May to complain about an e-mail message taking 9 days to get to me. I was promised some action/explanation but all I got were two e-mails about viruses, adware, AV software and firewalls.
Today I have received an e-mail dated 16/5/04 (11 days late)
I am sick and tired of the poor e-mail service and late/missing messages that have been occurring of late.
Will let you know of any reply.
