On Sky you can watch all the WWE PPVS in HD (When it shown LIVE)
But all replays are only in SD.

Wish Virgin Media update the home page on V+ Boxes more Virgin are still running ads down at the bottom for an movie coming to Virgin Movies in August (2018).
|
I don't think that they'll bother doing much to the V+ HD boxes now, apart from essential updates.

I thought the V+ HD boxes were removed from the network and it's now Tivo and V6 only or did I misunderstand?

The older V+HD models couldn't do MPEG4. I remember reading about VM requiring those to be replaced if customers who had them wanted to continue getting TV.

The Scientific-Atlanta V+ boxes were withdrawn some time ago, but the Samsung ones are still in use. The Cisco V-HD boxes are also still in use.

We have a Cisco box and it works fine with the Mpeg-4 encoding. It also has the SCART SD output to use with the DVD/HDD recorder and RF modulator.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2019)
Would be interesting to know if Total Country TV is going to be added to VM Ireland as well. There is as much if not more interest in country music there & they have many of their own performers that are also popular here.
It also causes a dialema. TCTV only features American & UK artists. All the Irish country is on Keep It Country TV, which the Irish have to watch on FTA satellite or Sky. Since KIC TV moved to full Freeview a lot of people in the NI border areas have been erecting additional TV aerials to get the channel from across the border.

Yes it has been sorted now, on both the V6 and the TV Control app.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2019)
Seems a lot of people here have subscribed to premier sports? Any scams to get it off VM or are you all paying the monthly fee?

It was free for a couple of months, I suspect some joined during that period and have not cancelled.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2019)
Just tuned into Channel 4 on 104 and saw a notification that Channel 4 HD is moving to 104 from Thursday. So I guess the extra Channel 4 HD streams that came on line are a prelude to Channel 4 becoming HD only.

The Notification is not being shown here.

I only watch Raw, Smackdown Live and the PPVS - I do not go in for all that Real Lives show (Like Total Divas).
Raw and Smackdown Live is not shown LIVE on WWE Network. So I will wait until:
1. Raw and Smackdown Live is shown LIVE on the WWE Network.
2. Sky drop WWE (May happen in December 2019)
3. Virgin Media launches WWE Network on TiVo or V6.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2019)
I watch the PPV's on the app. It certainly works out a lot cheaper. The first month is free for new subscribers. They also do offers when you cancel to entice you back. Last year after cancelling they emailed me a comeback offer of 3 months for 99 pence.
