Re: Dud Purchases
I bought a job-lot of Syquest EZ135 (135Mb) disks and readers from an office sale. Then they offered me the larger Syquest Sparq (1Gb) disks and readers for practically nothing.
They have sat in a box ever since.
I also bought 4 Panasonic DVD RAM TV recorders from the same office sale. We had a good period of good use, but when analogue TV was switched off, they were sent for recycling.

Re: Dud Purchases
I still have two CB radios, I used them for a number of years so didnt consider them duds.
The second video camera I bought only really ever got used once, so that was a bit of a dud.

I had one, totally gutted you can't get them anymore. Watched so many films in 3D on it and enjoyed most of them. It was great while it lasted. Not sure why you think the opposite.

I dug my old fully-modded Cobra 148 out of my mother's attic last summer, set up the silver-rod for a laugh too and SWR'd it all in.
The slip was crazy good and I got chatting to people from Greece, Macedonia, and Denmark.
Not sure I'll ever 'need' to use it again but certainly wasn't a dud purchase.
