Re: The Scottish Football Thread
Celtic v Dundee Utd game was an absolute joy today. Great attacking football, controversy, incident etc. Best domestic game of the season, could've ended 12-4 so many chances. Just what the doctor ordered after Tuesday's disappointing fiasco.

Think it's good for the game though that it will be at the most two. Was gutted when we lost the league cup semi, but can appreciate that it's a positive for the game in general.

Rangers fans' representatives have given chief executive Charles Green their backing to push ahead with the sale of naming rights for their stadium – as long as Ibrox remains in the title.
More than 300 supporters attended a fans' forum at the Govan club on Friday night which was addressed by Green and Newcastle United managing director Derek Llambias.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has held talks with Rangers over purchasing the naming rights. Ashley is a Rangers shareholder and his SportsDirect firm are the "official retail partner" of the Glasgow club.
A statement on Rangers' website said: "Following a discussion on the potential commercial opportunities for the club through naming rights, fans gave the go-ahead for Green to progress the issue but made clear that any renaming of the stadium should include 'Ibrox'."
Green said: "I am very pleased and heartened by the supporters' approach to this and we will take things forward as soon as possible."

I hear Dundee Utd are going to send a DVD of the game to the SPL and SFA asking for clarification of certain decisions...

Re: The Scottish Football Thread
Deeek you maybe want to change your public profile given the article below. Wouldn't want u getting into trouble, note u also have the phrase highlighted as your occupation. Tut Tut.
A SPECIALIST footie cop who monitors Celtic fans has been pulled off his duties — amid claims he described his job as “ pest control”.
Top brass are probing anti-hooliganism officer Tommy McCrindle after the jibe reportedly appeared on his Facebook site.
Under the “Works At” category on his profile page, the officer appeared to have written: “Fume-a -Pest & Termite Control”.
And following a complaint from the club, Strathclyde Police hauled the married dad-of-two off frontline Hoops duties.
Last night Scottish Tory chief whip John Lamont said: “It is wrong for an officer to refer to anyone they are responsible for policing in these terms.”
And a Celtic spokesman revealed: “We have raised the matter with the police and believe it will be addressed.”
PC McCrindle, 37, from Kilmarnock, serves in the Football Co-ordination Unit for Scotland — set up by the SNP to police hooliganism and bigotry laws brought in last year.
He was assigned this season to watch the Green Brigade, a controversial section of hardline fans who were described by Celts gaffer Neil Lennon as “an important part of the club.”
But the supporters say PC McCrindle is among a group of “bullying” officers who follow them “week in, week out”.
The officer has posted Facebook snaps of himself working at Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium during Celtic’s Champions League tie last year and was at the side’s Euro clash with Swedish side Helsingborgs in August.
In a statement the Green Brigade claim he “goaded” supporters at Parkhead on Saturday.
Celtic said they’re looking into the allegations, adding: “We will not tolerate any unjust or inappropriate treatment of our supporters.”
Strathclyde Police said: “A Facebook page allegedly belonging to an officer has come to our attention after claims of offensive postings.
“The officer will have no direct contact with the Celtic support during the inquiry.”
PC McCrindle was unavailable for comment and the Facebook page has been deleted.

Re: The Scottish Football Thread
Why are Sevco paying ÂŁ100,000 less than they owe cash strapped Hearts? Surely a club that lead us to believe they've just trousered ÂŁ20 million in investment and are playing to world record crowds should pay their full debt amount in a lump sum? Looks like the charlatan doesn't fall far from the tax dodger Or are these claims from the Teltleytwit just a touch fanciful

It could be a judgement call from the Jambos. They're due ÂŁ500k in the Summer but accept ÂŁ400k just now?
I wonder if all the desperate signals from Sports Direct North (Govan Branch) have made the Jambos realise that they're better taking the ÂŁ400k than wait in line with the rest of the creditors when admin 2 happens?

Agree fully but surely the Zombies with so much alledged wealth would be capable of paying the full amount and distancing themselves from the old club's legacy of not paying their debts?

And we'll done Ray Stubbs for doing what Nevin, McLean, Burley etc were too scared to do, and what Keevins, Johnstone, Dalziel, McCall, Wishart et all don't want to and never would do.

I was wondering why Chuckles the clown had been so quiet recently
The dead club will no doubt escape punishment.

I thought that was happening a few weeks ago? Surely not another fanciful claim from celtic fans who would rather talk about Rangers than talking about (or going to watch) their own team.

Well he has been out the country.
Lets see if Nimmo Smith goes with the punishment already decided by the SPL or listens to the evidence and finds that Rangers did nothing wrong. A guilty verdict will probably end up with the SPL on the losing end of a court case (again) and a not guilty will end up with the diddy teams moaning as they slowly go to the wall.

Re: The Scottish Football Thread
So the SPL set up an 'independent' panel using celtics lawyers, set the terms of the enquiry up as per the instructions of celtic and widely promote Rangers guilt to anyone who will listen and all they can find is a couple of minor admin errors, which should have been picked up by the SFA/SPL anyway, and impose a meaningless fine.
Good call SPL. You really are the most incompetent halfwits ever assembled in one place.
On the other hand if you wanted to make Rangers fans wet themselves with laughter, make the rhabids foam at the mouth in anger and ensure the 'celtic minded' idiot bloggers cry into their laptops then mission accomplished.
54 and counting!
