Re: F1 2021 Season Thread
Oh dear, looks like Lewis messed up and will be hit with a grid penalty for ignoring double yellow flags, so this maybe a 5 place penalty just like Max got in the previous race.

Cleared of yellow flag issue but still the ‘impeding’ charge being investigated.

Re: F1 2021 Season Thread
Marshalls messed up on the Yellow flag so that's a fair result.

Max has hit a wall, do has to settle for 3rd on the grid.

Re: F1 2021 Season Thread
Session stopped, Lewis pitted for tyres during the safety car and Max didn't, cars are now lined up in the pit lane where Max can change tyres putting him in first place, this doesn't seem fair but rules are rules.

You really can't make this up!
After the restart Lewis passed Max to take the lead but then Max cut the corner to retake the lead where Ocon moved into second place and Lewis third.
Seconds later another red flag due to a crash behind them.
Max gets demouted to Third, Ocon is now on pole with Lewis second for the next restart!
---------- Post added at 19:41 ---------- Previous post was at 18:44 ----------
Hamilton wins!
What a bizarre race!!!
At least 2 instances of dirty racing from Max where he got penalised for both.
Bottas takes 3rd on the finish line.

Re: F1 2021 Season Thread
Down to the last race, I hope it's decided on the track and not the Stewards office.
I think Hamilton will win now though.

Re: F1 2021 Season Thread
Interesting comment in the BBC website report.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/59542219
Quote:
What does this mean for Abu Dhabi?
The background to all this is that Hamilton went into the race knowing that Verstappen could afford a collision between the two of them and he could not.
If neither finished, the gap between them going to Abu Dhabi would have remained at eight points. That's the most Hamilton could make up on Verstappen in one race if he wins and the Dutchman is second.
But that would not be enough for Hamilton to win the title, because although they would be level on points in that scenario, Verstappen would be champion on the basis of having one more win.
That's absolutely not to say Verstappen tried to take Hamilton out on Sunday. He drove like he always does. Hamilton knows that will be how Verstappen drives, but he also knew that he had to win, and a non-finish would be the end of his title hopes. So he had to be the one to give way in any on-the-edge wheel-to-wheel scenario.
In a way, although they are now tied on points, that position has not changed much.
All things being equal, they will race for the win again at Yas Marina on Sunday. But Verstappen has nine wins to Hamilton's eight. So if neither finish, Verstappen will be champion.

Re: F1 2021 Season Thread
Well, people of F1 FB pages are spitting feathers and that MaFIA is doing anything to help Maxident Crashtappen win his first title.
Max is a dangerous and reckless driver, and meany people say he would take out Lewis in the last race, much like Senna & Schumacher did to win their titles.
The additional 10-second penalty Max got was a farce as he ended up with a 15 seconds in total, yer Bottas was 22 seconds behind, so no punishemt in the end,

Yes, those really crap reckless and dangerous drivers Senna and Schumacher.
Max is a top top driver and thank god he is here and in a half decent car, otherwise it would be another F1 snooze fest.

Well in 1997 Michael Schumacher was disqualified for dangerous driving in the last race.
Also Max's dad scored zero points, having retired from 9 of the 17 races,
