Re: CR3: Any Feedback or Questions?
Hi
We won't be releasing a full rollout schedule at any point, but we will release dates only when the mailings are sent and they are imminent.
Hemel Hempstead is definitely it's own separate franchise, so not included in the download to Luton next week.
St Albans - is that not a Bromley region that has had the upgrade already?
Cheers
Sam

Does that include Hertford (SG14)? Or do you mean Luton the place, not Luton the area serviced by the Luton Customer Service Centre?
Thanks

Hi. Sorry, the download will only be released to areas covered by the Luton headend but it does actually include quite a wide area which does seem to include SG14 postcodes. I think that everyone covered by the Luton call centre will be included, but the safest way to be sure is to look out for the mailing.

No St. Albans gets the same feed as Hemel Hempstead and is deffinetly defiantly part of the Langley region.
Thanks for answering my question!

Re: CR3: Any Feedback or Questions?
I have a question for Proppin concerning the download of LCR3. You talked on the digital spy forums about your role in the download. Can you add any detail on how exactly the code gets to our boxes. Does the code come locally or from Langley?

OK, without giving out any secrets.
The code itself is playing out repeatedly from two pieces of kit (main and redundant) at Langley, both the CR2 and CR3 codes are played continously. On the morning your region gets the code, some changes are made in the configuration of your local equipment so that it stops passing CR2 and instead passes CR3 for one or more (there are 5) box types.
Then changes are made which signal to the boxes that new code is available. Your box tunes to the stream containing the code and downloads it.
Thats as deep as I'm going into it, hope this is what you wanted.

Why not? If the trial is going well (as you said in another post), why are you so afraid of telling your paying customers when they might expect a (reputedly) major improvement in their TV service?

If promises are made and then something (unspecified due to the way life is) occurs, guess who's announced schedule would be completely in the air?
I think the way we are doing it, and announcing week by week the planned sites is the sensible way to go.
May upset a few, but could avoid a potential big issue.

Re: CR3: Any Feedback or Questions?
Hi been running for about a few days on my system in Grimsby.
At first few days it was fine and slick.
But today and yesterday I have had some teething problems with CR3 both boxes freezing when trying to gain access to the red button on BBCi or pressing interactive.
Also my second box sometimes having access problems to the tv guide it comes up but just won't go int o the guide from any of the lists.
You can still move about with the arrows to select but just can't select access to the four selections.
GUIDE
ON DEMAND
INTERACTIVE
SETTINGS
Or use the several options of guides.
These seem rather intermittent problems and can change by the hour.
Also some channel programmes schedules are refusing to come up.
Has anybody else seen this on there CR3 lately.

Who mentioned promises? I only said "might expect". You've rolled it out to 3 areas now, so I hope you're confident that all of the problems have been unearthed. Is it really asking too much to want to know when this upgrade is planned (there is a plan, right?) to arrive in the other areas?

Yes theres a plan, and its being announced one week at a time.
If the whole plan was announced and it slipped due to whatever reason then there are plenty of people who will slate ntl for it. Sorry but its true.
