there's a £2 fixed charge for technical assistance per call.

Given how expensive other help lines are and the fact that the £2 charge appears to be fixed regardles of how long the call takes ( or how short I suppose ) at least the ammount is known and there should be no nasty surprises when the phone bill arrives.

Got to agree with you here, but, what if it doesn't rectify your problem? That's another £2 down the drain so to speak...

if you end up making a dozen calls over the space of a month trying to fix speed problems that's £24 gone. I dont see that £2 charge advertised clearly or unclearly on the official site - do you?

Search google.co.uk with your postcode. Hopefully you'll find someone's number. There's a plumber in my street that advertises his number on some local website.

Its on the web site you have to go to the Charles Dunstones blog at the bottom of the page. If you have to phone the help line more than once then yes the cost will increase, but is this not the case with most help sites.

people going to buy a product should not be expected to go and read Charles Dunstone's online blog in order to find out about a £2 charge to the tecnical line. and most people buying this product wont be readers of his blog. as stated previously I do not see this cost advertised on the web site.

you can't support clients by instore help as you need to be by the computer explaining the fault (usually) - unless you propose people with broadband problems ring their local store for technical help?

Well if something goes wrong, there can only be 3 things wrong, a dodgy line (which we can check in store), faulty hardware/software (which we can replace in store), or user error. I mean on screen prompts, big letters and pictures sometimes arnt enough for some people unfortunatly. People ring the store all the time with BB problems, and ususaly its a simple "Is it plugged in?" solution. Anyway, im not defending CPW, there have been more than one unforgivable hiccups launching the damn thing, but things seem to be running smoothly...for now....
