I wasn't referring to the amount of time it takes i was referring to him saying he would turn off updates, and was pointing out support is due to stop in early 2020.

My guess is your HDD is too slow or not much space on it.

Basically you tell it you are on a metered connection. You then get to pick when updates are downloaded.
