It is killing me but I have put it on hold atm. I have stopped watching everything, even the last couple of episodes of the DC series, while I binge watch B5.

Re: Agents Of Shield

Enjoyed it of course but I can't ignore how weak that season was. I hope they can go out on top because it really kicked off in season 3 and peaked in 4 and 5 which were superb.

I don't think they could build a villain up in 11 episodes and they ended up being massively underwhelming. They did use a decent amount of screen time to build up the season 7 story arc though so maybe they accepted that season 6 may be a bit off. Did post earlier in the thread that it was plausible season 6 and 7 were two parts and whilst it isn't exactly two parts, 7 is a definite continuation of the events in 6.

Avoided spoilers for General's sake. Incase he's still not watched.

Each to their own I guess, I thought it was a very good season.

thanks but you don't need to worry, I watch AoS religiously every week as soon as it airs. I admit this season wasn't the best but I still enjoyed it as I have all others. The one thing I think let it down wasn't the story per se but the lack of interaction with other people and the wider world. In previous seasons you have seen them go out and about and interact with the public and that has made everything more real. In this season they felt more sandboxed and I can understand why they did it. The show would have had to address the fallout from Endgame and it would detract from AoS, the story and the characters. Still, it hurt my realism factor a bit.

Still enjoyed it though. The one thing I was worried about going in to it was how on earth they were going to explain Coulson being there without actually being Coulson and I thought they did that very cleverly. As I have mentioned previously, the series has been renewed for a 7th and final season and it was filmed back to back with season 6. I am delighted they have come up with a way to bring true Coulson back; very fitting for the final season. I can't wait to see him in charge again in his prime with the team back together and hopefully kick some ass as he has got some new found strength and abilities.

Re: Agents Of Shield

Having caught up with the entire run up to the end of season 5 on Amazon earlier this year I found I couldn’t stand watching one episode a week with adverts so I set a series link for season 6 and just left it until it was all out. Now the kids are back at school I have a bit of time during the day for binge watching so I’ve now caught up.

I liked season 6 though I think they painted themselves into a few corners (Fitz in a freezer, lead character dead) and the MCU left them with a very difficult shared universe in which to tell any story that wasn’t impacted in some way by the events of Endgame. Given what they started with I thought what they produced was very good, and where they ended up, though the plot device itself isn’t in any way original, will give them more creative freedom for the final half dozen episodes.

I was left wondering, given the numerous references to multiverse theory and Deke’s continued existence despite changes to the timeline into which he would be born, whether they are signalling that the show isn’t even set in the MCU any more. But seeing as we’re now almost at the end, we may never know.

Anyone know when season 7 is coming out?

Re: Agents Of Shield

Start getting excited I was mildly concerned when I heard they had filmed the last two seasons back to back and thought they may be re-using sets to save costs etc and we would see some similarity but this looks completely different and like they plan to go out with a bang. I love this series and it is going to be sad to see them go, seven seasons is a good run though. I am keeping my fingers crossed that when it finishes its run on US tv networks, it will be made instantly available on Disney+ to boost the Marvel content and will be so popular that it will prompt a spin-off series. Fingers crossed

Re: Agents Of Shield

We can hope, but the best part of a year after s6 finished broadcast in the U.K. it hasn’t shown up on D+ which only goes up to s5.

I’m hoping that for future box set purposes they’re treating s6 and s7 as one complete season, seeing as they’re each only half seasons long compared to the other 5. In which case a few months after s7 has gone out we might get the lot on Disney.

I’ll record them on e4 but as channel 4 has never made any of its HD channels FTA on Freesat (except C4 itself, for a while at least), if there’s even a chance of seeing it in 4K on Disney I’ll discipline myself and wait.

lol, well if any series deserves it is this one. The production quality is excellent and I would put it up there with current series like The Expanse and Picard. If you were going to wait to watch a series in 4k and proper surround sound this is it.
