Yep, but as I said in the streaming thread the other day, I think a lot of the paytv channels will wither as the streamers gain more power. This is the beginning of that process.
There is no way that Disney will now allow its content on competitive services such as Sky, so we're into a new era of each company owning and broadcasting its own content on its own platform and apps.

Absolutely correct, Horizon. Events will conspire against the viability of conventional channels. As you say, content will be restricted, viewers will be pulled elsewhere (for a variety of reasons, including content, the convenience of on demand and advertisement fatigue), and our currently popular channels will become unviable.
It'll take a few years, but the trend will be noticeable in about half a decade. It doesn't really take much to work out.

ZooMoo HD is new to Virgin Media as a linear TV channel but it's not new to Virgin Media, having been available on the Virgin TV Kids app for some time and was also on Sky Kids and NOW TV before.

Love Nature is of more interest to me. Pity it's not in UHD, though.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2018)
FFS
UKTV (at least when I last checked five minutes ago) is still half-owned by the same person who owns VM, yet we're going to lose the channels. So much for the "love" between sister companies.
As the Broadcast article goes on to say, this is about the future possibility of a combined on demand service being offered by the BBC, ITV and CH4. They want to keep the on demand rights to themselves.
As I said earlier regarding Disney, we're into a new era. Each broadcaster wants to keep its own content for its own platform and apps.
Note: ITV and others are hoping to buy Discovery's share of UKTV. We should hear about that any day now. That maybe another reason for the reluctance to do a deal with VM

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2018)
Hoping that they can come to a last minute agreement, if not it will be a huge blow to both parties.
This explains the sudden flurry of additions to the TV service on Saturday, ahead of the 10 channels plus all the HD and +1 versions potentially leaving on Sunday!

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2018)
If no deal is reached one suspects Virgin Media will be receiving plenty of phone calls as those channels are watched by quite a few customers.
