Is it?
The average game gets 12 million viewers - 1 in 6 of those in the UK.
10 million viewers is minority interest viewing on a planet of 7 billion people.
One you take out China and India you’d probably find in most other countries the majority of EPL games are watched by numbers in the tens of thousands. Minority interest content by any definition going. It’s not going to sustain a subscription model on its own.

I just don’t follow the “best league in the world” mantra from the biggest non-state run propaganda machine on the planet.

Its definately the most competitive and therefore has a bigger draw than most other leagues.

Re: Football on Virgin Media (Season 18/19)
Is it the most competitive? Most seasons only one or two teams can win it despite Sky's top 4 mantra.

La liga - Barcelona or Real Madrid
Serie A - Juventus
Bundesliga - Bayern Munich
Ligue 1 - PSG
SPL - Celtic
These leagues are often won weeks from the end of the season
At least the EPL has 4 or 5 serious contenders and usually goes down to the wire.

This season it has two.
In 2017/18 Man City won the league by nineteen points.
In 16/17 Chelsea by seven.
In 15/16 Leicester by ten.
I’d contest that “going down to the wire” is the exception. Even if it was true, it’s still minority interest content. Like La Liga here or the NFL.

There's more than one of us on these forums that can come up with a believable answer to questions like that.

Well the Premier League makes plenty of money out of World TV rights,English soccer’s top flight brings in UK£4.2bn from abroad for 2019 to 2022 cycle. Some broadcasters must think its in their interest to cover the EPL. http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/p...-international

Nowhere did I claim it wasn't in their interest.
I was simply making the distinction where it's compelling content (the UK and Ireland) and where it's secondary content (the rest of the world). Represented by the fact that rights to retail it to the 70 million or so population of these islands £5bn stands higher than the sum total across 180 odd territories to the other 7 460 million people on the planet.
