The story in the FT goes on to say:
Quote:
Britbox, Apple TV Plus and Discovery Plus had the highest churn rate — meaning they lost the most users on a gross basis.

anyway this is streaming related Microsoft are considering making a move into the streaming market however their approach will be different they want a one service for all aka Netflix, Disney+, Discovery+, Appletv etc all in one service.
Atm Disney and Apple aren't interested but Netflix, Britbox and Starz are showing interest, it will also have Microsofts tv and movie store on it too where you can rent or purchase tv shows/series/movies etc.
I'm keeping a eye on this one closely as it does seem to be gathering steam and Microsoft certainly have the funds to do this.

Yes, that’s interesting, Legendkiller. If Microsoft can win over all the streamers and enable you to compile one watchlist for them all, that would be just what I am looking for.

I think this time it's their approach on it taking a different route to what they have done in the past,
it could just end up being something like you can use you Microsoft account to pay for each services so like one bill instead of multiple etc.

They've had (or it feels like they've had) about 12 different approaches over the decades to being involved with television, whether it be broadcast, consumer products or anything remotely close to the industry. I wasn't just meaning 15 tries at the same thing.

Re: Streaming services news, offers and general chit chat
Talking about subscriber losses:
Quote:
Netflix shares drop 22% after it loses 200,000 subscribers
That was far worse than a conservative gain of 2.5 million subscribers forecast by Netflix management.
Netflix’s video streaming service suffered the first loss in worldwide subscribers in its history, deepening troubles that have been mounting since enjoying a surge from a captive audience locked down during the pandemic’s early stages.
The company’s customer base fell by 200,000 subscribers during the January-March period, according to a quarterly report released on Tuesday.
That was far worse than a conservative gain of 2.5 million subscribers forecast by Netflix management.
Now Netflix is bracing for things to get even worse with a projected loss of another two million subscribers during the April-June period.

Re: Streaming services news, offers and general chit chat
I may look into switching my UK Netflix to a Turkey account, for anyone who does this how much hassle is it and is the content limited? I'm guessing I would need a VPN too so that's more money on top.
