Not replacing the Defender in a timely manner when the previous model was discontinued hasn't helped the company. Add China, diesel situation, poor reliability and a sprinkling of Brexit and you have the company's issues in a nutshell.

I don't think they've had a good reputation since TATA took them over.

I believe the once loved Jaguar simply became a body shell on a Mondeo chassis. Once you lose that 'prestige' status, people who want quality buy elsewhere.

Tata turned the company around and ditched the X-type which was Mondeo-based but a great car. Quality has been an issue since BL days.

I stand corrected Andrew, X Type was Mondeo based when Ford owned them.
