According to the Digital Bitrate website Eurosport 3HD and 4HD mentioned above now seem to be testing. See link below for details of the transport stream they are on.
http://www.digitalbitrate.com/dtv.ph...ng=en&mux=C080
Looks like from the pictures that they are using footage from Sochi 2014 for the testing.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2018)
Sorry, but only just got the V6, is the any UHD content ? Haven't got a UHD TV, so it's a bit academic, but handy to know when next buying one.

Only on YouTube and Netflix currently, but we are given to believe that things will start to change later this year.

Ah, don't use either. Also don't want a massive TV, think I'll wait for HDR.

Perish the thought ! Some channels are best grainy as they were intended . Have you seen the 60's repeats of 'Steptoe and son' on Yesterday? Must be 25 lines definition not 625 ! However it's the the content/script that's brilliant, PQ is immaterial.
However sport, best definition poss. is nice, which is why I'll be freezing my nuts off watching a FA Trophy tie today, ultra ultra definition and 3D Rubbish pies though

Doesn't surprise me. Eurosport are now getting far more involved with Olympics rights so additional broadcast provision was inevitable. Luckily it is actual channels and not the dreaded Red Button streams you cant record.
They are being added to BT TV as well in SD & HD:

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2018)
FreeSports have been tweeting that they are launching a HD channel soon:
https://twitter.com/FreeSportsUK/sta...22948397502464
https://twitter.com/FreeSportsUK/sta...52905911726080
Virgin Media does not have the SD version. FreeSports said that virgin media want too much money to air it. They said a few months ago that they would likely launch on Freesat HD/Sky HD for a possible HD channel as it is much cheaper. They said that launching on Freeview HD isn't going to happen any time soon as it costs a fortune, $300k or so for Freeview slot + multimillion broadcast fees from Arquiva to broadcast it on their tv towers.
Would be very embarrassing for Virgin Media if the HD channel launches on FreeSat HD yet paying Virgin Media customers can't get it.

That is going to confuse their Freeview customers even more. "So you say you are on Freeview HD but you are not on Freeview in HD, I have to go somewhere else for that". They are stilll having to explain to people why some areas cant get it on Freeview when "all you need is a Freeviw HD set". No mention of it only being available to 75% of the country.
I don't think it will bother VM. RT HD has been on Freesat for sometime & its not on Virgin.
