Wiring phone socket

This is not a fault of a VM installation, but instead after we had some building work done and the phone socket moved.

Seems they have bunged wires any which way and nothing worked.

I don't know much about wiring but I'm perplexed why we only have 1x blue and what looks like 2x white wires here?

This is the only socket we had in use in our property.

Can anybody help shed some light?

Thanks in advance
Matt

Re: Wiring phone socket

There are only two wires there, the other white thing is a piece of string, one goes into A and one goes into B.

You have a 50/50 chance of getting it right, try.

Re: Wiring phone socket

Ideally, although it doesn’t really matter, the -48V goes to the B leg and the 0V to the A
