Mountain bike gears
I have an old (5yr old) mountain bike with twist grip 18 speed gears. The front & back derailleur needs setting up & I dont have a scooby.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Cheers
Al

Re: Mountain bike gears
"On Yer Bike" at Woodhouse will service it for a small fee. I know a few people that use them.

Re: Mountain bike gears
A bike shop won't charge much to set them up. Alternatively, there's loads of bike maintenance videos on Youtube.
Derailleur adjustment

£35, that's not bad at all.

Re: Mountain bike gears
I'm bidding on a tricycle on ebay at the moment with a first gear problem, might be worth a trip to "on yer bike" if I win it. Could ride the tricycle to York Street in no time at all from here.

Re: Mountain bike gears
Judging by the website, "On yer bike" looks a bit pants though doesn't it?

The web site is a bit pants but they know their stuff. I was in there on Friday to order a Diamondback Ascent 29er

Re: Mountain bike gears
On Yer Bike have a tremendous reputation locally, built up over 20 odd years. Websites aren't everything.

Re: Mountain bike gears
Got the bike back from "on yer bike"
£21.80 for gears & brakes setting up properly inc new inner cables.
Very pleased with the service given & the cost.
