Re: House Of The Dragon.
For the first episode l thought it was very good but others might have differing opinions on it.

The first episode didn't grab me quite like how the first episode of GoT pulled me in. Felt like the budget half price version of GoT done on the cheap.
Yeah it has dragons but there was lots of minimally done scenes with blurred backgrounds and it just felt a bit like other period dramas but with some CGI.
Its not bad so far, just not particular spectacular so far.

Re: House Of The Dragon.
Point of information - season 1 of GoT (2011) the budget was $6 million per episode; season 1 of HotD (11 years later) is $20 million per episode.

Those new diversity consultants must cost a fortune for studios these days
I'm not sure if the increased cost means they are getting the same as the $6 million back then but they just didn't seem on par at all. I can still see in my head the starting shots of GoT where the camera panned down from a height with Bran climbing, showing a big set and the scale of things and the kings introductions. All so well done as a way of introducing your to characters and memorable. You even got to know what some of them were like from the first 5 minutes. Compared to HotD most of the first episode is forgotten already.
Just seems quite run of the mill and a bit cookie cutter series in comparison. More comparable to maybe Knightfall....but with dragons of course

Re: House Of The Dragon
Seemed pretty good for a first episode where we are being introduced to the characters.

Re: House Of The Dragon
Just finished episode 10 (it leaked ...).
Definitely enjoyed the whole season, despite the slightly slow start.
Looking forward to Season 2.

I did not find it slow at the start. I enjoy the character building and stage setting

Re: House Of The Dragon
I quite enjoyed this, in fact moreso than Rings of Power (couldn't get past how OP and great at everything, yet strangely abrasive Galadriel was)

Just got the last one to watch.
Once I got past the 1st episode, which just felt a bit weird, I've really enjoyed it. Even Matt Smith didn't annoy me.
It's as good as peak GoT ever was. Helped by having quality such as Paddy Considine and Rhys Ifans in it.

Re: House Of The Dragon
The only thing I’m annoyed about is why there isn’t another 5 episodes, right now.

Indeed, I'm ready for Season 2, but I guess we'll have to wait a year.
