Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

Had a call from vm offering me the sky sports collection for the special price of 22 quid a month!

Said I wasn't interested and he immediately said we could get the price down to £15.87 a month

Very precise figure, still not low enough for me to be interested though

How come BT Sport are not showing these games like they are with the Champions League?

BTs current contract only covers Champions League qualifiers not Europa League.

From what I understand BT had first refusal for the Everton game. It then gets passed on to ITV as they hold the contract for the highlights.

I guess ITV didn't want first leg as they are showing Women's rugby World Cup.

Have to say I'm surprised BT are not showing it, they showed the Europa qualifiers in the past two years. I wonder if this indicates cost cutting following changes of management.

I assume it's because they don't have the rights to show these games.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

Noticed a Tweet from Premier Sports earlier in regards to the new Freesports channel that launches in a couple of weeks.

"Give our sister channel a follow! The new platform will allow us to show 2 live events at once & bring a range of sport to 22 million homes!"

Looks like an overflow channel for Premier Sports. They'll possibly broadcast some dual live events over both channels too

So it's looks like Premier Sports doing it's own Sky Sports Mix but on freeview too. Would be nice to see it in HD.

I like this trend. Come on BT, up your game with showcase

Totally agree!

Looks like Freesports are drip feeding info on social media. Today they confirmed 3 NHL games per week will be broadcast live on the new channel. Further news regarding other sports coverage coming soon...

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

Freesports launches on Freeview on 31st August. Had a look at the schedule on Freeview. Their first live action is NRL Broncos Vs. Cowboys. They also have various shows throughout the day including 30 min shows dedicated to Barcelona, Dortmund and Milan. The info on each show suggests these programs will have news, interviews and highlights for each club.
