Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season

Cristiano Ronaldo claims his World Cup bust-up with Wayne Rooney has made their friendship stronger

Quote:

Ronaldo enraged many supporters with his perceived goading of Rooney during the World Cup, with many holding him directly responsible for the striker's red card against Portugal and England's subsequent exit from the tournament.
The Manchester United winger has had to cope with abuse from away fans in the Premiership this season but has performed sensationally, and he insists he has a good relationship with Rooney.
"After everything that went on Wayne and I are still the best of mates. That has been proved by the way we have played this season," he said. "Wayne and I are like brothers and what happened at the World Cup has just made our friendship stronger.
Whats the odds on him moving to Spain in the next six months

Quite likely I reckon, £50m and no less Fergie

Don't know what the odd's were, I would say they have shortened a little though, maybe Wayne was the close friend he told , if I were Fergie I am not sure I'd sell him for that, he is irreplaceable, I would say a lot depends on who you sign this summer, spend big on the likes of Torres and Hargreaves and you'll have a chance of keeping him

Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has told his close friends he has no intention of turning his back on the club in favour of a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid. (Daily Mirror)

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season

TBH i can see him going.. he comes from Maderia with the warm year round climate and has the choice of either playing in the Prem in Manchester with the cold wet weather and as soon as he touches the ball someone is on him trying to kick and foul him

or he can move to Barca or Read with the Spanish culture and know the language and the food with warm weather and a beach in Barca plus he gets more time and space on the ball

But if you listen to The Sun, he has told other "close" friends that he is leaving!

As usual papers just make things up.

Ronaldo montage, it's worth a look if you are a football fan

It will be a shame if he leaves United.

Mad Vlad has another carefully considered and well thought out go at other teams in Scottish football.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season

It sounds like Nistelrooy is still hurt over being kicked out at United.

Quote:

Van Nistelrooy was left out of United's Carling Cup final team against Wigan last year and he was unable to deal with the snub.
"I exploded and began swearing at Ferguson because I felt he had kicked my soul," revealed Van Nistelrooy. "That was the moment things died and could never be the same again."
While he was a great goal scorer as his record suggests, he was hardly a scorer of great goals, plus I think the team now has a better balance to it imo

He called the press "Monkeys" midweek and today at the match handed out bananas and nuts to the press as they came in.

At half time he played songs by the Monkeys and is generally non to cheffed by the Scottish press.

For that at least he has my support.

Bellamy faces uncertain future as Liverpool reel from golf club attack

Quote:
Liverpool's preparations for Wednesday's Champions League game at Barcelona have been overshadowed by drunken misbehaviour on the Algarve. Craig Bellamy is facing a heavy fine and an uncertain future after a night out allegedly concluded with the forward using a golf club to attack his team-mate John Arne Riise.

FA Cup....
Roeder backs calls to end replays

Quote:
Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder has backed calls for FA Cup ties to be decided by a single match.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants replays scrapped and Roeder told BBC Five Live Sport he feels the same.
He said: "There are so many games to be played now that I would prefer for there to be only one match, decided by extra time and penalties if needed." However, Manchester United assistant boss Carlos Queiroz favours adding extra time to the first tie.
It may favour the bigger clubs, but smaller clubs would lose much needed revenue if replays were done away with.

Chelsea report more losses 80m this time

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ea/6374753.stm

this is something none of the Chelsea fans never take into account.. it's not just the players RA has bought but the new training ground in Surrey.. paying off the old shirt deal.. paying off Ranieri plus all the debts each season

this takes is spending to close to a billion of not over that amount

don't forget some football league clubs have been docked points for operating in debt
