Virgin Media Business Speed

I'd be grateful if you could report into this thread:

1. Your business tier (e.g. 350 Mbps);

2. What speed you actually get during office hours;

3. Whether or not there any times when speed is worst;

4. Any other observations you may care to make.

I'm keen to judge the effect on speed of the GRE tunnelling method VMB uses to provide the public IP addresses.

Cheers

Re: Virgin Media Business Speed

500/35.

Speedtest.net: 430Mbps/34.9Mbps (Taken Now)
Whitebox Instant Test: 362Mbps/35.1Mbps (Taken Now)
Whitebox Realspeed: 453Mbps (Taken Now)

Whitebox Stats for week: 429Mbps/33Mbps
Whitebox Stats for month: 396Mbps/34Mbps

I'm on the new Malden node. Anecdotally, since the great cable pull where they took out internet for the best part of a week my service has been fairly poor, slow, packet loss and so on. (RDP was a nightmare)

Some work was done in the past couple of weeks and things seem to have reverted back to how they were previously, connection seems much more stable and speeds are back to normal pretty much 24/7.

I've also noticed that 1Gbps is now available on my address in the past week, although as I'm on a business account they don't supply it....

Generally speaking, I see the same speeds during the day as I do at night.

I've had a couple of "outages" where logging into the hitron shows the connection up and a GRE connected but no routing, rebooting the hitron resolved that (it's pretty annoying as if I'm out I have no way of rectifying this).

Re: Virgin Media Business Speed

I am on the 500/35 business service, fed from New Malden, with 5 static IP addresses

Current speedtest.net results:-

I find results pretty consistent during the day & evening.
