Agree a new deal

Hello all
Around 12 months ago I agreed a new 18 month deal with VM, it was with a very nice UK CSA.
My email is ntlworld, so that shows how long I have been loyal for.

Anyway I pay £99pm and I am pleased with everything but I wondered rather than wait for VM to contact me and tell me my package has gone back to £143pm, could I contact VM in advance and ask what they can offer me for a further 18 months?
Time is on my side at the moment but I can understand UK CSA's better than a foreign one with all the background noise.
FWIW I am with Amazon Prime as well, sorry my post is all oer the shop.

ps: I have been with you guys almost 16 years.

Re: agree a new deal

I always put my notice in 30 days before the contract ends so it is all sorted for the new deal when the old one expires. Also ntlworld been with them over 20 years as was originally Comtel.

This forum is not VM own btw

Re: Agree a new deal

In my experience, VM won't contact you to tell you about the price increase, it will just happen and once it does, you won't get the additional charge back even if you negotiate a new price.
What I've done in previous years is call Retentions a month before your discounts end - I find the phone App is the easiest way to find exactly when this is - and negotiate then. My Promotions & Discounts end on 14 June 2023, so I will be calling them mid-May.
It's a good idea to get some quotes from alternative suppliers and to be aware what VM are currently offering new customers. Ultimate Volt is now being offered to new customers at £75/m for 18 months (Gig1 Fibre Broadband, 230+ channels with Entertainment, Anytime chatter, Netflix Standard + O2 unlimited sim) https://www.virginmedia.com/broadband/broadband-and-sim
With Sky likely to be pushing its Now, Stream and Glass services in 2023 you should be able to get a competitive alternative that VM will react to in negotiations.
