Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
No surprise that the big platforms are working far more together now as we are very much in the era of the entente cordiale which can only be good for customers.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
I think very much the view is a Sky Sports subscriber is of value regardless of platform and the same for BT Sports now.
I don’t think either Sky, Virgin or BT expect radical shake up of the TV, phone or broadband markets as a result of each other’s actions any more. Their positions have stabilised in the market. It’s now about how best to reduce costs for content while maintaining value and pushing price rises onto their existing bases.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
That will happen, BT will just deliver the channels to BT Youview customers over it's IP multicast network making them recordable.

Yes I agree entirely. I only watch if my team are playing or there's nothing else on tv.

Agreed, however as someone else posted Leeds v Villa has more worth thN Huddersfield v Burnley whatever leagues the ganpmes are in.
There is a huge disportionate amount paid for showing premier league games compared with Championship games.
As for EFL contracts, obviously the main draw is the Championship - it wouldn't surprise me at all if we see a PL2 with it totally ring fenced from the rest of football.
I am not a supporter of ring-fencing, but see this as likely to happen in the near future.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
The amount of money tv companies are paying for tv rights is totally out of hand anyway,I think we all agree. The bubble will surely burst soon.
Incidentally, does anyone know whether other countries tv providers pay similar amounts to us?
