Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
don't forget the Eboue dive to win the free kick Arsenal scored from in the European Cup Final
ALL clubs have divers and unfortunately it seems no one apart from the fans whp pay all the money to the club want it stopped

You must have been stuck behind a very tall bloke with broad shoulders, as you must not have seen it properly.

I am afraid that you are one of the main culprits of this...only appearing when you win, never when you lose or draw. Arsenal fans never join in with the other general banter even. Arsenal fans are like these rodents in the desert who only stick their heads out their burrows when it is safe, i.e when they have beaten utd.

And have a player replacing him who I would best describe as "a lump". Ashley Young is good but how much of that is because he's a new Premiership player- a la Michael Ricketts?

This is one of a few threads without a current racist debate. Soooooooooooo
How do you think, Kettering's black players will react to this appointment?
Do you think, they will feel shipwrecked??
Perhaps hire Shilpa as a "healing expert" to balance things out?
and hire Jade as "motivational psychologist"?

On the current topic, isn't he the guy that has knocked Arsenal out of the Champions league on two occasions?
He actually has a good scoring record at all the clubs he has been at, he has played in the top division of six countries now so he has the experiance.

Actually, I looked him up on Wikipedia earlier, and he averages a goal every 2½ games (whereas Baros is every 3½), so he's got to do us a favour (if he gets the supply, admittedly).
As for Young, I have to say that I can't believe he's worth nearly 10million, but O'Neill is allegedly going for him and Carew as a new front line, so I'm going to wait until they've played a few games before I really pass comment

He seems to work best when played alone up front IIRC, so that should fit right in with your current tactics

West Ham are trying to bring a lot of players in - Link
I think Upson is a good player but bringing in so many new players in a short space of time might not be the best thing for West Ham. Just buying more and more players won't help in my opinion, the current players have shown they are good enough last season so it's just going to disrupt the team, i don't think these new players are going to change West ham's position that much to be honest.

I don't know why we bought Davenport, Spurs must be laughing about that one, Upson is quality and he is exactly the type of player we should be signing and Boa Morte and Neill are quality, if over priced.
The thing about everyone of them is that they are leaders, they'll stand up when the going gets tough and not shirk from it, that has been the problem this season and if these players coming in disrupts the team then good, shape up or ship out
Some one told me earlier that Kapo is a similar sort of player to Ashton, not as good obviously, so that probably means young Dean is still some way short of playing again

Been confirmed now - Link
£9.65 million is a lot of money for a 21 year old who has not got much experiance of playing in the premiership. He has, according to O'Neill and Boothroyd, enormous potential and O'Neill doesn't normally get much wrong so will be intersting to find out how he does.

Na not me I am around win lose or draw.
You must be a United as it is like tumbleweed drifting with excuses or little digs for when they lose.
