It’s a two-way street. More imports. More exports.
Instead of expecting everything to remain the same, which nothing does for long, the farmers need to be looking for new markets.

The price of lamb has been horrendous for years because of lack of competition, and what has happened to mutton

Yes, in fact the Protocol may have unforeseen downsides for the EU if they continue not to make it work in real world. I do think we need to start thinking about reducing imports from the EU and increasing them with more friendly countries. For example, fewer German cars, more Japanese cars, etc.

Most people have no clue where their cars are made. Many BMWs are made in the US and South Africa, for example. They key is getting UK battery production sorted.

I find that hard to believe as i know for a fact that both those countries insist on the fitting of working indicators, the BMW's sold in the uk don't appear to have them

Re: Britain outside the EU
Let's get this into perspective. We have natural and cultural affinity with Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
This contrasts with the EU and, sadly, Ireland.

Oh please, Andrew. You've tried to lightening my comment with the 'nul points' fact, but the Euros is a geographical competition and "uniting us" is the last thing that occurs. I'll bet the English couldn't stop laughing at Scotland's defeat; they prolly gave a worried look at Wales' excellent performance; cast a nervous eye at France's performance. Nothing uniting us there.
As to the Eurovision Song Contest, 'nul points' is a badge of honour!

It's all good banter whenever the nations play sport so that's unifying. Would love Wales do well after England but it's really Italy's to lose.
