Gennaro Gattuso. He really is an absolute legend, even as an Inter fan i can't help but love the guy. A loveable rogue if ever there was one.

He went so crazy it went beyond disgust and into admiration to be honest. It was very amusing to see someone kick off to that degree.
Off to Arsenal vs Barcelona tomorrow. Scary.

The guy is a (I cannot print what as it would breach T&Cs of this site), he wants a life ban.

I see, so lets see the game fall apart and allow abhorrent behaviour.
Yourself and Niles should be ashamed

Yep, it was awe inspiring. I almost had a tear in my eye.
Wow, you're very lucky. I couldn't get a ticket, unless i was willing to pay hundreds. I'm still just a red member sadly.

A life ban just for that? Get a grip.
In all seriousness though, i find it pretty ridiculous (and unsurprising) that people don't seem to be questioning what Joe Jordan might have said or done to provoke such a reaction.

Why Gattuso should be banned.

Re: Football Season 2010/2011
Like i said; a life ban just for that? You should be more concerned with Flamini's two footed challenge.
Some quotes from Gattuso, courtesy of Gabriele Marcotti:
"I lost my head. I was wrong. There is no justification for what I did."
"Jordan was busting my balls for the whole second half, but I should never have done what I did. There is no justification."
"Not going to say what was said, thats between us, we were speaking Scottish [sic]. Do I expect a ban? I'll accept whatever I get."

The word under his captains armband is something he certainly doesn't possess and i'm sure a large number of people have lost for him after tonight.

The same goes for Joe Jordan then.
If anybody has lost respect for Gattuso after this particular incident, they couldn't have known much about him in the first place. It's not exactly out of character.

Joe Jordan wasn't the one going around grabbing people by the throat and headbutting them. No matter what the provocation, there was no need for Gattuso to behave in the way he did. There are always tastless comments on the football pitch and i'm sure Gattuso was giving his fair share tonight along with Joe Jordan, but it was only him that reacted.
Maybe i should rephrase it to whatever respect they had left for him is now gone.

Re: Football Season 2010/2011
Seriously tho, as much as i love passion in the game, you can't excuse gattuso for losing it. To defend his actions based on what jordan could have said is a weak argument. Would you excuse a kid for headbutting another who teased him all day at school? I'm sure evander h was right in tyson's face when he chewed his ear off. Is that ok? And what about zidane's headbutt in the world cup?
Whether gattuso was right or wrong, he should be banned for displaying the type of behaviour. There must have been plenty of young budding footballers/kids watching that game on tv. They should be shown that such behaviour is unacceptable.

Yes I should be shamed
No one is excusing what he did and he will be punished but it was amusing the degree to which he lost it. He was a roving lunatic. I especially liked the image of him picking a fight with Crouch who was twice as tall as him! I agree with Niles that Flamini's tackle was far worse.
