TiVo will always record the first available showing of a program, assuming that the series link has sufficient priority.

The only reason that you created a series link that recorded the Thursday showing was that the Monday showing had already taken place and TiVo (obviously) couldn't record the Monday one. Check My Planned Progammes.
Now that you have asked I can only say that I'm not sure at all about what has happened!

The show in question is Arrow and in My Shows I have 2 episodes from Thu 14/3 and 2 episodes from Thu 21/3 which seems to back up what I had said had happened.

However looking in Planned Programs it shows that it is set up to record the 1 showing that is on tonight and Thursday's showing is set up as a manual recording. I can't remember exactly what I did when I set the program up initially but I do remember trying to set up a manual showing at one stage but I thought I had canceled that.

Looking back at recording hiccups it states that last Monday's 2 showings weren't recorded because the series link had been canceled. It also said that the manual recording of episode 'Lone Gunman' on the Thursday wasn't recorded because it wasn't new. However in My Shows it shows that it has recorded both episodes including 'Lone Gunman' from Thursday.

My Monday recordings no longer clash with Arrow so I'll leave it as it is and see what gets recorded this week.

Sorry for the confusion but I do remember being confused like Londonbornpaddy in trying to get it to record a series on the day I wanted it to.

Got the problem above too. Have a series link for football's next star "New Only" but it continually records all episodes Really annoying as it could interfere with other recordings we've set. It recorded 3 last night instead of the one only that the link should have recorded.

That's happening because that programme doesn't have any episode information, so the TiVo can't tell the episodes apart. Same as happens with Click.

Setting a weekly (or whatever) manual recording is the easiest workaround.

This was posted by one of the mods on the VM forum. Perhaps another glimmer of hope.

"Hi all,

I can understand the frustrations you have, however I can assure you that we're in full of development with regards to the Android app. As someone else has posted, we're also working on improving our backends to support the influx of you guys hooking up with TV Anywhere over Android.

It shouldn't be much longer now. "

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3

Thanks to all for their help with my Tivo recording issues. I think when i got Tivo i never imagined i would actually want to record 3 things that are on at the same time - guess my addiction to Ice Road Truckers on a Friday night has caught up with me. That and Walking Dead , Modern Family and now Revolution all around the 9pm mark. I think i got it sorted out now

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3

Currently have a V+ box and am thinking about switching to a Tivo but want a comparable collection to the XL package.I was thinking about the VIP collection but without the Sky Sports/Movies element. Just wondered what the cost would be and if I could retain the V+ Box as my second box as I still have a lot of unwatched and non-transferable recordings on it.

If not in contract, call retentions on 150, option 5 then 3. Explain what you want and they will tell you the best deal you can get. Be firm but polite and you can't go far wrong.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3

Hi posted this on the VM community forum but no harm asking here too.

Over the last week or so I have been experience a short burst of sound coming through my system.

I have a Samung HT-D5530 Surround System and a Samsung UE50ES6300 TV which are all connected by HDMI.

I have mainly noticed it on HD channels, and over the last couple of days we have kept a note of time/date/channel it has occured. I have yet to notice/log it on SD channels but will continue to log any instances.

I have checked all my connections including speakers and everything is fine. We have not noticed it during Bluray playback or any streaming from my NAS.

The last occurence has been during The One Show on BBC HD (108) twice in the last 20 minutes.

I have also checked by disabling the surround system and just using the TV speakers and the fault still occurs.

Also I am able to rewind the show and the fault still happens which to me assumes it is coming from the broadcast and not my equipment.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

It's hard to explain, it's just a sudden burst of volume which lasts under a second and then goes back to normal.
Its just a burst of high volume, am assuming that because I can playback the issue that it's coming from source and not the actual equipment, especially the fact it does it either through the surround system and also through the TV speakers.

I have recorded it using my phone, it's not the best quality but you can hear it around 10s into it when Brian Cox's name is mentioned.. hopefully this link works

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwQC...it?usp=sharing

It sometime happens 2 or 3 times a day, but sometimes worse than that as in louder.

There is no pattern to it, am trying to narrow it down to what channels it occurs on (we mainly watch HD and tends to be BBC HD, STV HD, C4 HD so that's why started logging it to see whats worse.

It's getting annoying, was hoping somone else is experiencing the same thing to see if it's the actual broadcast or possibly a box/signal issue.

Happened again at 22:05 on BBC HD (108) on the news, so if anyone else noticed please let me know.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3

Hmm:
http://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2013/...orizon-update/

There was talk of Horizon replacing TiVo as VM's PVR after the Liberty Global takeover. If that report via the link is any indication, we may have dodged a bullet.

Yeah, the Horizon interface seems to be far nicer to look at than it is to use, couldn't argue against all those tuners though.
