yep, ntl's going down the pan. Every one of their customers is leaving them for talk talk today, last one out please switch the lights off. What will you moaners do when ntl is no more?

I'm happy with NTL & won't be leaving in a hurry especially for an un-proved service so I'll keep the light on

NTL probably sent the disconnections department home for an early Easter break, coincidently no customers will be able to leave and join Talk Talk

Re: [Merged] Car Phone Warehouse BB
the NTL phone line doesn't do caller display in some areas. the BT one does. so if you have caller display that might make the talktalk offer a better option.

Re: [Merged] Car Phone Warehouse BB
I've been happy with NTL for a long time, many years i've been with them, but since around Sept, October last year the service has been going down, now other ISPs are offering much better deals and faster speeds for a cheaper price, even NTL themselves (As Telewest) offer 4MB for the same price as NTL customers are being offered 2MB, it just isn't fair anymore.
NTL need to start offering more speed or cheaper prices to keep customers happy.
Still no one even knows what's going on with the 1MB & 2MB to 10MB free upgrade, no word from NTL on this in months.
What the heck is going on?

If you only occasionally have very high usage, we're unlikely to be concerned unless it becomes a regular occurrence. If this does happen then we'll get in touch to help you find ways to reduce your usage. Ultimately, if your usage still remains excessive despite our attempts to help you reduce it, we may restrict your general Internet service throughout the entire day. A last resort will be to suspend your service and possibly close your account.
We definitely don't want to do that, TalkTalk is all about giving our customers the best possible phone and broadband service and with your support we'll work with you and hopefully avoid this from happening.

Re: [Merged] Car Phone Warehouse BB
NTL have probably realised that their idea of upping everyone to 10Mb was rubbish. If everyone's on 10Mb, why would anyone pay £35 for the top tier? If you are on the top tier, and your usage for the month is within the lower cap, do you only pay the lower rate? If you still pay the higher rate then you might get a bit annoyed. It's unworkable.
For the lower-price customers (the ones who may clear off to TalkTalk), NTL need to give them 10Mb with a 40MB cap for a tenner to persuade them to stay. If they offer this then many of the £35 customers will also take this offer, leaving NTL short of a lot of money per month. The only tempter for the £35 package could be uncapped, but their network may struggle with this, as people may feel justified in using what they've paid for. Again, if an uncapped customer then used less than 40MB one month, why should they pay more than a tenner?
NTL are going to have to deal with the fact that their monthly revenue will reduce, either through fewer customers or less £ÃÆ ’‚£Ãà¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£s per customer.
Interesting times...

Re: [Merged] Car Phone Warehouse BB
AFAIK 256k is the standard upload for ADSL.

Re: [Merged] Car Phone Warehouse BB
Their deal seems crap, considering the speed, the cap and the fact that its LLU. Look at the other LLU providers, its not 40gb there.

I'm no expert, but someone said Wanadoo was a LLU and there cap is 2GB per month.
Check on the Wanadoo site: http://shurl.net/Ev
