Well I don't watch any of them...well we have The Soprano's om DVD. But with all the channels there is always something to watch without worrying about one channel.
Don't you remember when Sky took Sky 1 off VM? Well actually they put the price up too much. Well there was an outcry, but at the end of the day it was one channel, and most people who complained were only worried about the Simpsons.

The channel has been up and running now for 9 months, so has had plenty of time to settle in.

Any independent review will depend on the tastes of the reviewer. It's up to individuals to look at the program line up, decide if they really want the channel, and then if they aren't with Sky, then weigh up the extra cost in changing.
Personally I have had Sky Atlantic since it's launch, but never watched it.

Re: Sky or VM for TV???
[QUOTE=Tim Deegan;35324344]Vewing figures don't matter to the viewer at all. Unless you are talking about the viewing figures in the account holders house.
What you have to remember is that VM have to buy most of their channels from Sky. So it wouldn't be financially viable for VM to include channels with very low viewing figures. At the same time why should anyone pay Sky's high prices for loads of channels that they would never watch?
There may be some people who spend a great deal of time watching TV, and like to have the choice to watch 100's of channels. But personally I don't spend all my time in front of the TV, and I'm more bothered about quality than quantity.[COLOR="Silver"]
I too am more interested in quality over quantity, which is why I want a channel that shows several emmy award winning dramas and not dross channels like Good Food HD.

Strange - I thought Good Food HD was on channel 249 on Sky?

You're kidding, right?
It's a while back now, but if I recall correctly, VM viewers also lost great shows such as 24 and Prison Break.
I think I can see why Sky Atlantic doesn't interest you.

Exactly.
Any 'overall' review of Sky Atlantic, will depend on the reviewers show preferences.

All round Virgin have the better packages which remember include ESPN in the XL package plus better broadband and VOD and a far superior STB.

There is no need to be insulting.
I hardly ever watch Sky 1, and I never watched 24 or prison break. I may have done if I didn't have a life, and spent all my time in front of the TV.
The channels I probably watch most are the discovery and national geographic channels.
My comment about the Simpsons was actually true. It was what most people complained about losing.

Spot on.
VM users should also lobby for Sky Atlantic though, because VM with Tivo and great broadband, make moving to Sky, for one channel, a non option for most VM people

It wasn't meant as an insult; it was an observation. And from your post, an accurate one.

People could say to me that they can see why I'm not bothered if we don't get sports channels. It would be true, because I don't watch them, so tht wouldn't 'insult' me.
However, I think the more channels VM get, the better, so I welcome sports and any other channel VM gets, even though I may not watch it.

The only sports channels that I am bothered about are Motors, and from next year Sky Sports for the F1, but that's only going to cost me £7.

Why only £7?
---------- Post added at 08:23 ---------- Previous post was at 08:22 ----------
Edit - is this because you already have the Sports channels and are going to upgrade to HD when they get F1?

It's because I will already have the movies, and it only costs an extra £7 to add the sports package. Which I will do when the next F1 season starts.
