Would this be the case with a debit card though?I'm not sure that they are covered by the same rules as CCs.

Re: roomsnet.com warning

After a long slog I have finally received a fund for my two bookings I e-mailed them a least every second day. I also managed to speak to them on 5/10 and they said they would process as a priority. On 09/10 I decided to contact Amanda Marsh She was adamant she no longer has any contact with roomsnet but she was able to tell me I would definatley get a refund I also contacted them through speaking to one of their agent online when you log onto their site but you will only get through once.As the next time they will recognise your name and they will not answer. So I logged in under another name.
I contacted Trading standards who are investigating. Although I paid by Visa Debit they suggested I contact my bank(HBOS) and mention section 75 and charge back which I did The bank said the would help "assisting me in obtaining a refund"
So I do not know if it was the bank or my persistence but I received a refund.

Please also contact the TV programme as I supplied all my information

Good Luck

Yes. If it's a Visa debit etc, you have protection.. correction your bank have insurance for these kind of issues. Charge it back.

I wouldn't even bother going to this "Roomsnet" go straight to your card provider.

Hi Tara,

I went on holiday on from the 28th - 1st Oct. I phone them on the 2nd and emailed all my details over on the 6th.

My bank was credited today but with the amount I paid roomsnet and not the amount paid to the hotel, nor the bank charge for using my card abroad.

hope this helps. Good luck

Rebecca

Re: roomsnet.com warning

I booked (and paid!) with roomsnet on 2nd May for a one-night stay at a hotel in Ibiza on 11th September. On arrival at the hotel I was told that the booking had been cancelled by the Spanish agent in August, due to non-payment by roomsnet. Calls to the emergency 24/7 number in the UK produced no response, either on the night or subsequently. We had to pay the hotel the posted rate (128 euros) for our night's stay. The website has(had?) a "Chat live with an agent" facility, but that just cost me 3 euros in an internet cafe while being told that I was number one in the queue and would be attended to momentarily. I sent an email on the 13th September threatening to post a truthful and accurate account of my experiences to date, and received a response two days later giving a highly dubious story about a fault with a payment server and subsequent difficulties in identifying which hotel had been paid and which remained unpaid. On our return home I found an answerphone message dated Friday 25th September from a representative of Roomsnet, apologising for the problems and promising a refund "in three weeks' time". The three weeks expires today, and guess what? As at 2.45 p.m., my credit card account, which I've just accessed online, shows no refund from Roomsnet. Hence this post. This will be re-posted everywhere I can think of.

Re: roomsnet.com warning

Hi Rebecca,

Thanks for the info, I went to Lanzarote on the 28th August to be told my room was cancelled. To date i'm still waiting on my refund. I emailed them on the 28th August and tried to ring their "EMERGENCY NUMBER" that no one answered, I am emailing them on a daily basis just to be told that my money would definelty be in my bank in the next few days, 6 weeks later i'm still waiting!!!

Solicitors wont do anything. Speak to your card provider.

I to paid by Debit card although it was a Visa debit card. When I first contacted my bank (HBOS) I was infromed there was nothing they could do. After speaking to Trading Standards they informed my to contact my bank and quote "section 75 and charge back". Which I did and the money was back in my account within 4 days
