Re: why ufc wont make it mainstream
I have experience of ring fighting and I have experience (limited) in MMA and I imagine the reaction to follow through on the knock down would have been instinct. Aggression does need to be controlled in a fight because if you do not you lose control and make mistakes and mistakes hurt.
I think this follow through was a mix of MMA instinct to go to ground when given the opportunity and aggression towards this opponent. Boxers only fight on their feet the instinct to hit a man on the floor isnt trained into them. As a kickboxer I to only fought on my feet and would not go to ground to fight but when I was training in MMA you do follow up to ground fighting
If you look at the clip as the guy hits the floor his guard appears to rise Henderson at this points is on his way to ground and hits with one blow
Years ago you would never have seen 2 fighters like this it used to allways pretty much end up on the floor with one or another Gracie winning. Its a lot better to watch now than it was imo

Re: why ufc wont make it mainstream
It’s in the rule that you can do what he did. Bisping was all mouth before the fight which made Dan angry in the heat of the fight you will be surprised what you do.
Why do you think people get glassed etc on a Sat night?
IMO Bisping needed that it will be a good lesson for future fights.

Really great fighters don't often get beaten but when they do they learn from their mistakes. It'll be interesting to see how Bisping deals with this bad defeat.

This probably interests you as well then. Lashley is currently 4 -0 in MMA.

Re: The UFC thread.
Definitely. Bobby Lashley was awesome in WWE, a real monster. Can't wait to see him and Lesnar square off.

Re: The UFC thread.
I hope people set their V+ boxes to record the UFC countdown show. Due to a cock-up on the VM EPG the 2AM preliminary bouts aren't showing up so there's an hour of fights that people will miss otherwise.
Also, I bet someone at ESPN's going to get chewed out tomorrow as the audio for said fights is in Spanish for some reason.

They just switched to the English audio.

Re: The UFC thread.
It's being reported that UFC champ Brock Lesnar has collapsed and has been hospitalised with a 'very serious' condition, no further details are being released at the moment.

Re: The UFC thread.
No, it would ruin it. Just as we've had the best UFC event in months.
