Re: IE7 full release

people please stop posting firefox firefox this is a thread on IE7 not for firefox fans to sell their fav browser.

Another bug I have found in IE7 which doesnt happen in IE6, if a page has ad frames, ie. skysports.com then IE7 adds it to url history so when clicking back it has to be clicked twice since the first time it simply goes to the adframe screenie below to show you what I mean.

Re: IE7 full release

I've noted a few more things wrong with IE7, please correct me if I've made a mistake, both in typing/usage

1. If a web page opened in a TAB 'hangs' or 'crashes', then it can 'hang' the whole broswer rather than that TAB or cause such a long pause before something happens that you think it's crashed! You can't just close the problematic TAB and carry on! TABs don't seem to be 'instances' that can be killed!

2. When using the 'Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer' it seems to 'freeze' the whole browser until it connects, so you can't browse until a connection is made.

3. Can't see an option to make the Search open in a new TAB, it opens it in whatever TAB you are viewing at the time, so if you forget you lose your page until you click 'back', open a new TAB and search again.

4. No Right Click 'What's This?' context help in 'Internet Options', except for the main 'OK', 'Cancel' and 'Apply' buttons, very useful that!

Still using it though! Will wait for an update to see what they fix/add!

Re: IE7 full release

Another issue with IE7 the Kaspersky online scanner will not work with 'dfault' activeX controls - these are the settings you need to run it:

Quote:
To enable activeX in IE7, click Tools>InternetOptions>Security>Custom Level>ActivexControls+Plugins>
Allow previously unused activeX...>Enable
Allow scriptlets >>> Enable
Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls >>Disable
Binary and script behaviours >> Enable
Display video and animation on a webpage that does not use extended media player>>disable
Download unsigned Active X controls >> Prompt
Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting >>> Enable
Run activeX controls and plugins >> Enable
Run activeX controls marked for scripting >> Enable
You will get a warning that your browser is set as unsafe, once the scan is completed reset back to what you had before

Good to see M$ has increased the activeX security
