There are a few long threads about this issue, but basically, some of us would prefer it if NTL left our emails well alone. They already make a mess of delivering them, Lord only knows what they'd do with spam filtering

They have. Last night, between 11pm and 6am, anti-virus and anti-spam measures were added to the ntlworld email platform. The anti-virus solution should be active immediately, but the anti-spam solution is currently in testing, and is due to go live in a phased rollout over the next few weeks.
