It's probably that Sky wants to keep Atlantic to place it's bigger budget shows on and the only way to get the content is through Sky themselves or their streaming service Now TV.

Deals are getting more difficult these days since they managed to get eBay/Amazon to remove cheap voucher listings.
Although what really makes me laugh is the £10 2 month entertainment passes that are sold in supermarkets, better than paying £7.99 a month on the credit card.
That's what I do anyway

You might be right, but after their press release on the BT deal, my guess is that Sky IS making Atlantic available to VM but at a price VM is not prepared to pay. That is the only way the press release makes sense to me.
I don't think that Now TV is on the cards as a streaming service to VM customers either, so it looks as though BT has stolen a march on us.

Sky have always maintained it's channels are available at what it considers a fair price.
You're just clutching at straws with the BT press release rather than admitting you were wrong.

I was not wrong about reference to 'all major TV platforms' but clearly my conclusion about Atlantic turned out to be incorrect.
Incidentally, one curious sentence appeared in Virgin's own press release. It states as one of the elements of the new deal:
'Increased on demand rights meaning that customers can dive deeper into Sky’s collection of films, shows and sports events'
So it is not impossible that we may get SA shows via on demand box sets only (ie no live Sky Atlantic channel).
Pure speculation of course, but it would be an elegant solution if true. Sky could continue to state that Sky Atlantic only appeared on the Sky EPG, while BT gets the content through Now TV and Virgin Media through box sets. Win-win all round.

I was not wrong or 'incorrect' on what a major TV platform was, jfman. But yes, very funny.

If you are that good at reading the collective mind of Sky in using a subjective term you should ought to have known we weren't getting Sky Atlantic.

I cannot read minds, jfman. I merely stated that Virgin Media, being second only to Sky in terms of the number of subscribers on pay tv platforms, was correctly described as a major tv platform. BT, of course, comes in as a poor third.
If we do get SA programming through on demand, that would suit me fine, and would be a similar sort of arrangement as BT, but through box sets instead of a separate streaming service.

E!HD will be in there and this is confirmed in Virgin's press release. Sky Racing HD must be considered as a possibility although not specifically mentioned. I doubt we will get any +1 channels but cannot rule it out.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2019)
The OFCOM thing only needs Alba/S4C in Top 24, and probably only in their relevant markets. If 108 is empty in Wales, because 101 is HD (can someone in Wales confirm), that solves one of them. The table for OFCOM didn't mention BBC Scotland Channel so they must be OK with it being in 160s in rest of UK.
