Re: Netflix/Streaming Services

Netflix takes about 1 to 1 and half minutes to load from the initial app to watching a film. Will this be speeded up at some point in the future (I suppose it is more to do with the Tivo Box)!

It is to do with the Tivo. Having recently been fortunate enough to upgrade to a smart TV, I have been astonished at how slow Netflix on the Tivo actually is.

I know that TiVo is slower than other Netflix devices, but is 1.5 minutes such a big deal if Tivo is the only Netflix device that you have? It's still quicker than driving to the local cinema

No cables, just wifi. That is rather ironic bearing in mind the Tivo has a dedicated signal. Prior to having a smart TV the loading time was not a problem (it still does not really bother me), my smart TV has just opened my eyes to how slow the Tivo Netflix app is. I still watch Netflix via my Tivo simply because my BB is affected if I watch Netflix over the wifi.

Been told that Netflix are "clamping down" on people using unblock us to access USA content. Is this true?

Netflix is crap via the Tivo, I mean in this day and age, and with Virgin boasting that they have the fastest BB etc etc, it really is poor!

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services

I have pretty much stopped using it on the Tivo when the Netflix app is so much faster when using Chromecast or Xbox 360.

Re: Netflix/Streaming Services

Would be good if Vodafone brought this approach to the UK when they launch their TV service this year (assuming they don't acquire VM/LGI)

Is it the Tivo that's poor or the particular Netflix software on it that's poor? Are there faster Tivos elsewhere then that might come to the UK soon?
