Well done Stoke by the way, if only Sir Stanley had still been around to witness it...

Re: Football : Season 2007/2008
I know Lemsip Rubic isn't the highest authority on footballing matters, and sure it was a good goal but I can't see why he's heaping so much praise on this guy... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/mid/7381995.stm
Perhaps he's had too much cheekiness?

Yes I'm a Coventry fan too - it's depressing at times isn't it?! Still, apparently there's lots of money available for players next season so you never know.

What do our Scottish members think?
Fair or not to refuse to rearrange Rangers fixtures?

Re: Football : Season 2007/2008
Not fair at all, some of the decisions they have made this year have been baffling.
Allowing one team to cancel a game due a players death but making the team who actually witnessed it play?? They should have cancelled the whole next set of fixtures as a mark of respect rather than picking and choosing.
Still if that and the recent dodgy refereeing decisions keeps the unwashed half of Glasgow from moaning about a
'pyure conspiracy by they durty masonic referees to keep the Sellick doon by the way'
for 5 minutes its a small price to pay.

Re: Football : Season 2007/2008
It looks like the Wigan fans will be rolling in cash this weekend. They've been able to buy 4 tickets each for the Man U game. Rumour has it they will be charging £400 a pop. I wouldn't want to be a Wigan supporter trying to sell them outside the ground, surrounded by drunken Man U fans.

It's going to be like a home game for United. I read somewhere that they gave us 10,000 tickets to sell through the club plus the ones sold outside the ground and before then there's going to be a fair few away fans there.

I can't remember being this nervous about a football match for some time, probably since '99

Think about it - just about all the pundits in the papers are backing United as if it's going to be a stroll in the park - and to me that is a BAD omen.
Wigan, like Bolton and Portsmouth are a bogey team - fairly ineffectual on their own but put them up against United (especially when we *need* to win) and they'll swat us away. Not just beat us but humiliate us.
Putting it bluntly, I'm bricking it

They aren't a bogey team for us really - "Manchester United have a 100% record over Wigan, winning all five Premier League meetings with an aggregate of 16-3."
I'm just exited nervous, i just want the game to kick off now instead of this waiting around with nothing to do lol
