You don't really need to make threads to ask those 'questions' when there's a thread dedicated to 'answers' before the question has been asked.

With these apps and more in the pipeline watching the tv is changing quicker then people think, apps will be on every tv within 5 to 10 years.

Yeah I am pretty sure (but in my opinion though), maybe I wasn't as clear as my earlier posting though which is much clearer than the one you quoted me on.
On my connected TV the apps provide (amongst others) i-player, 5 OD and Love Film. Apps like that are a real bonus in my opinion as it provides content, weather forceasts and banking are pointless to me.
If they provide high quality content then all well and good, if they don't I don't really see a great advantage having them, especially on a premium digital STB which after all is really designed to facilitate the watching of TV, I think some people forget that minor point!
But that's just my opinion.

Pretty much agree , tv catchup , film and radio apps are great however what's the point in social media apps what make you leave your show , if it was a sidebar maybe that would appeal to some.

Thanks for that. Will put my wishlist to the test.
Bet it's about Aliens coming to do us harm as usual. Wonder if the Gov are keeping the friendly ones from us. Come to think of it who needs harmful aliens when we have Bankers and Politicians.

As Johnlouis pointed out, I think what Denphone meant to say was "Coming soon ..." and Spiderplant meant to put his rant in all upper-case for increased volume.
However, now that Denfone has made the changes both humanely, to put us out of our misery, and as soon as humanly possible, I find that he has gone too far! He has downgraded almost everything to lower-case whereas some items should be in upper-case (e.g. TV) or mixed case (e.g. TiVo).
Oh well, at least it has been toned down a bit. I was finding it distracting as I was drawn to the loudness of the left-hand column.
