So your saying that an extra Tivo costs £11.50 why? Why is the charge for it split? If so how ridiculous and misleading.

Just checked and your right. Seems pointless me bothering changing to a new package then. How dissapointing. This is getting quite an expensive game.

It's split because there are different sorts of boxes.

The second box charge allows you to see all your channels on an additional box.

If the additional box is a V HD, there is no additional charge.

If the additional box is a TiVo, the TiVo charge applies.

None of the new bundles include a second box in the quoted price.

Thanks, Ben, I thought that and was keen to ensure that cupcakes understood that an extra TiVo on top of Big Kahuna would cost £11.50 and not £5 as he erroneously thought.

Just gone from XL TV with a Tivo, Castlemaine XXXXL broadband and talk weekends to the Big Kahuna and ended up saving £20 a month. Plus got the upgrade to 152mb instantly.

Yay.

Are you able to upgrade if you are still in a current contract? I'm on XL TV 100MB BB and Talk Unlimited and I think it has 4 or 5 months to run.

Re: Virgin Media launch 'first true quad-play' bundles

Call up retentions and ask them. They're usually quite good about letting you change your package, even if you're in contract. It's better for them to sell you a new 18month contract at a lower rate than keep you for just 3 or 4 months at the current rate.

I am only 3 months into a new 12 month contract and I phoned the sales number in the new bundles advert I received via email and they let me upgrade to one of the new bundles and let me keep my discounts too, so yeah, give them a ring and ask

Re: Virgin Media launch 'first true quad-play' bundles

OK going to go for the Big Kahulalalalalala and pay line rental upfront so will save myself £153 pa. What is the best time of day to get through to the Scottish customer services? Last time I had an indepth conversation abroad it was with a technician on board a two stroke motorcycle. No kidding.

Also will I have to upgrade to Superhub 2 or will my 1 suffice?

@Kushan @lonespeaker

Thanks for your replies guys. I'll try and get time tomorrow to dig out my current contract details and then give retentions a ring and see what I can fix up with them.

Another question. If i take a VHD box for £20 (to make total 3 boxes) do you only pay the multi room fee once?

Re: Virgin Media launch 'first true quad-play' bundles

Your bed time to ring is morning just after 8 and the multiroom fee is per box so it would be £13 (£6.50 each)

The V HD for a one-off £20 is a replacement for an existing non-HD box.

An additional V HD box will have a one-off installation charge of £49.95 unless you can agree a waiver of this charge.

Each additional box has a monthly charge of £6.50.

Is there any way to see all the new bundles in detail yet? All i can get to is the Big Kahuna page and the old collections.
