Re: Season 2017/2018
That is a complete contradiction, how can they state that the 'attendance figures' can be anything other than those who actually ATTEND.
If they want to do that they should call it the seats sold figure, not attendance figure.

I agree Jim.
I had a brief trawl through the Premier League handbook and couldn't find the rule that the article refers to, indeed I did find "Form 11" Which clubs have to complete after each fixture. That requires them to report to the PL the number of tickets sold AND the actual number attending.
I guess the important bit is PUBLICLY....

Re: Season 2017/2018
Can't say we've ever had that problem in Newcastle. Not to blow our own trumpet.
Think we all but sealed our premier league survival yesterday. Hopefully that will allow Staveley to push ahead with a takeover in May or it remains to be seen if other parties want to take a pop at it. Can't see Benitez signing on again without the takeover. He'll run his last year out next season.

It would be sad to see Rafa go after next season if that is the case as they might not get a manager thereafter of his calibre.

Re: Season 2017/2018
Just dragging the topic back. It made me wonder how we totted up attendance figures back before the now common standard of scanned ticket turnstiles. I just came up with the assumption that they'd use counters and then the turnstile would report their numbers through to the head guy and add them all up?

A truly magnificent goal from truly one of the greats but the constant cheating , playacting and simulation last night was depressing to see from so called professional footballers.

Re: Season 2017/2018
I saw him at Old Trafford a few times, in fact he played more games for The Reds than he did for Chelsea.

Re: Season 2017/2018
Think it's latter stints at Chelsea in a coaching capacity which coincided with his push into punditry. I say this because up until your post I had no idea he'd played for United

Re: Season 2017/2018
He also played for the illustrious Rossoneri and Glasgow Rangers so he certainly played for some massive clubs.

Re: Season 2017/2018
This is the second time in recent history that the scouse thickheads have behaved like this. Kick the team out may be the only way to get them to behave. Morons.

Sadly the hooligan element has never disappeared Jim and unless there is a strong deterrent they will continue to do these type of despicable things.

Re: Season 2017/2018
Liverpool to win the whole thing. What a story. I don't doubt City's ability to rack up 3 away goals in quick time here though. If they can keep City at nil they're laughing, a goal at the Ethiad would end it.

Long way to go IMO as things have a habit of coming off the track at times as was witnessed against Seville.
