Cheers HSH85
I have the task bar at the side, as I often have many windows open - using different programs at the same time, while working through logs. For myself the taskbar 'runs out' too quickly if at the bottom, and it is easier to locate the correct window in the taskbar. I only changed to this style about 12 months ago, and it works well for me. In addition I have lots of quicklaunch icons for programs too, as I prefer the shortcuts here instead of the desktop - again for speed of use, as it uses less clicks.

Re: [Merged] Show us your Desktop or Wallpaper
Interesting layout I have the taskbar on single because right now I group the bars together since I use Al+tab and the powertoy to give you images as you switch to move between them.

That's cool, I had the same trouble with the limited space; I just increased the hight rather placing at the side. But with all that quick launch icons, doesn't it slows down the time to login into your account?. I used the have ***** loads of quick launch icons and slowed my login time by 30 secs!

It's wrong isn't it? Windows users should keep their "window" and us Linux users should keep Tux

Haven't noticed too much slow-down, but if there is I prefer the icons being easy to hand, so a little pay off isn't too bad. I disable most of the non-essential service through 'services.msc' and stop all the unnecessary startup programs too. I guess it is whatever works best for each individual.
