Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
I think VM are trying to get us not quit by saying july onwards. It seems to be july onwards for nearly everyone, wish they would just be honest and give us a 2 month window. Do that for the first 9 months of upgrades and say "no eta" for the ones that don't have a date yet.

We all knew this ages ago, that's why it's in the first post of this thread after all.

mine is before july, and did originally say in progress.
I dont know what to think of this, it could mean my area is going to get some investment as is early in the rollout, or it could mean they just going to switch it on with no new capacity and things are about to get a lot worse.

Yes we've already made some improvements to wireless reliability in the last R30 firmware update and the upcoming firmware includes new wireless drivers which should improve things even further. As soon as we've finished our internal testing we're planning to open up a beta test for this firmware which we'll announce on the forum.

Will Mr Bolt recons March to April here (he couldnt point any higher up the scale!!). Looks like the upgrade may involve some investment, or it may just be a coincidence.
12th January (typical chart)

20th January (typical for the last few days)

or you can spill the beans, funny how some seem to love the speculation.

Your area already looks exceptionally good. Those are the best VM charts I've seen in months.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
I've actually just had a similar 'upgrade' in connection quality. IP address changed (back to one I had months ago).

Quite pleased with the look of mine considering I was uploading continuously throughout the period.

Your area wasnt terrible but it wasnt great either, thats a defenite improvement you got there.
Will wait and see if one comes here before the speed doubling.
Incidently I will go back to the vmng300 like you are on if my area gets upgraded as I am noticing the extra jitter again on the shub (wuth my tbb graph not looking completely terrible), although it still overall better than the vmng300 at the moment due to the vmng's US channel been totally overloaded.

Re: Virgin Media to Double Broadband Speed
Apparently some people with 50mb will be getting 120mb according to http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/01...a_email_error/
Also I am on VIP 50, will I see any change in pricing?
