Yes yet another poor decision by the BBC yet again to get rid of a famous flagship sports show.

The days of Grandstand were long over. Bringing it back would be a step backwards.

That would have been a good idea at the time. Unfortunately , time has moved on. Personally I liked World of Sport on ITV, that is where I first watched the Superbowl in the mid 70's and became a fan.

I wonder what the figures for the show will be?

"Smash, Sky Atlantic’s drama about the fictional Broadway production of the life of Marilyn Monroe, is recovering well via the PVR.
On Saturday 28 April at 10pm, episode two’s live rating, as is often the Sky Atlantic way, registered a titchy number: 62,000 / 0.31%. After recording, however, it looked much more perky, with a rating of 232,000 / 1%."

I think that, in time, former Sky Atlantic shows will probably be used to obtain further value from them, by using them to fill air time on other Sky channels.
